Game Trailers/News: A Weeks Worth Of Crap
Seeing as its been a minute [or two] since I've posted anything...let alone all-things gaming related [which is REALLY odd]. I think I'll do a smorgasbord of [new/old] newsiness. Also, in the spirit of TGS being this week and me having two friends who are actually there...you may see a fair amount of postings relating to whatever trickles out of one of the year's biggest conventions EVAR!
After the jump...MadWorld, Cosplayers, Punch-Out Trailers, Palin Chops AND MORE
A look at Nintendo's newest dip in what seems to be an overflowing well of waiting-to-be-reanimated gaming franchises: Punch-Out! For the Wii [Warning: because this is a Nintendo product, the title may change 'look for a Super in front of Punch-Out' in the not-to-distant future]

Don't thank me for this shot thank the lovely guys over at Destructoid.com.
According to Jim Sterling from Destructoid, Manhunt 2 is supposed to be released and goes on sale Oct. 31 [spooky] in the U.K. . I think most of you guys in the know remember that the U.K. was one of the first to ban Manhunt 2 from store shelves. This is really interesting considering how staunch supporters in the BBFC [think ESRB, but with an awesome accent] were in keeping this game out of childrens' hands. What caused the change of heart? Essentially, after the designers nerfed the original version of Manhunt 2...the vote was overturned months ago.
Want to see a ridiculous amount of cosplay photos that may weird you out, but in some way 'titillate' you? Venture on over to Enchanted Collection. The sad thing is [depending on how you look at it] it's really some dude's [i'm assuming] Flickr account of photos of 'hot chics...dressed up like...hot chics from video games'. So some of the shots are mad pervy, but there are some shots that are flat out gorgeous and well composed.
With as much crap I've [admittedly] talked about the Wii in my personal life. I've spent quite some time looking at the list of Wii games that are coming out in the future. Above is the Conduit. This is basically a tech demo to prove the awesome power of the Wii. The graphics whore in me COULD rip this apart [I mean...look at the edges and NOT notice the jags], but honestly...for the Wii, this is mind-blowing. It really is looking good, let's hope when it comes out it plays just as well.
Nick Smith's creation is spreading...go over to Pwn Or Die to see where it all started. Trust me there are tons more photochops to come if this keeps up.
Matt Martin reports for GamesIndustry.Biz and has a quick interview with Steve Balmer, one of the head honchos over at Microsoft. The one thing I can take from the article is that Steve is very adamant about the Xbox 360 being an "unqualified success". Is that like saying, "We been doing awesome! You guys don't even know!" [said in an angry Will Ferrell voice]. Peep the article here.
Finally, Randy Nelson over at the Joystiq, posted video of MadWorld. That's three video and news postings about Nintendo Wii titles...for me...I'm pretty damn impressed [both with myself and with Nintendo]. It is a spot of sad news for those of you guys who eventually want to play this gore-filled game, because apparently the games controls are being reworked on by Sega's game developer Platinum Games. Doesn't it look fun though?
Brog Out,
