Commercial Break: Boom! Thirty Minutes Of My Life, Wasted

It's come to my attention that a fair amount of you come to my blog to waste time at your daily jobs. Hey, it's okay. I do it too. However, did you know you could be wasting even more time? That's right. My pal [though he doesn't know it yet] Micheal Badger has been doing these News Views videos for quite some time now.

He swears it's not a joke and all intentionally shot in a retro-manner. It's supposed to harken back to a time where the news was just that, the news. No spin, no fluff.

I don't remember it being so, well, you know. But hey, you wanted to waste a moment of your life right?

    Enjoy!

What Discourages Me Most About Buying A PS3.

"Thank yous" to Leigh Alexander of Gamasutra, she [and the Onion] have helped me narrow down what my big issue is with the PS3.  This video is clearly an exaggerated belief for what non-, or even anti-PS3 savages believe.  It is high-end. The PS3 has a bevy of functionality...so why haven't I bought it yet?

    Major Layoffs & Cancellations @ Revision3.com

Revision3 Beta is still a go, but some mainstays got axed

One of my favorite networks [web and otherwise] suffered great losses this weekend.

For our long-running Photoshop show Pixel Perfect, it’s the end of a show that’s done over a hundred episodes, and delivered essentially a graduate level course in graphic design and technique. For PopSiren and Internet Superstar, it’s the end of 2 shows that had great promise, but never really found their audience.

For two of the shows, we’re simply stopping our distribution agreement, but the shows will live on. You’ll still be able to watch Epic Fu, and Wine Library, both at their own sites, and through new and existing distribution partnerships. Epic Fu will be available on Revision3 through mid December, Wine Library ends its Revision3 run today. We remain huge fans of these two shows, even though they don’t fit our long-term plans at Revision3.

    ------------------

One of my favorite shows Pixel Perfect along with: Pop Siren and Internet Superstar are gone. Pop Siren was growing on me and I kind of agree with the Internet Superstar choice.  IS never really found its audience and I was definitly not in their demo. Epic Fu and Wine Library TV were two shows that for some reason, reminded me of MTV when they first started in the late 80's and taking chances with really good talent interspliced with quality production. They will be missed by this viewer.

If you've never heard of these shows...or stumbled upon this site to catch up on some really cool and informative shows click this link for the show archives.

Hopefully this isn't foreshadowing for some sort of Podcast version of the 'dot com bust'

Game Trailers/News: A Weeks Worth Of Crap

Cosplayers: Because God Has Off Days Too...

Seeing as its been a minute [or two] since I've posted anything...let alone all-things gaming related [which is REALLY odd]. I think I'll do a smorgasbord of [new/old] newsiness. Also, in the spirit of TGS being this week and me having two friends who are actually there...you may see a fair amount of postings relating to whatever trickles out of one of the year's biggest conventions EVAR!

Mark Hamill returns as the Joker [In Arkham Asylum Game]

    Commence The Freak Out

Breath...Breath...in through the nose, out through the mouth. Yes, it is true. Sir Mark Hamill [why did I just knight dude?] a.k.a. the 2nd best joker ever [sorry I have to give it to 'the Ledge' for his bananaberry performance] will getting behind the mic one more time.

If you've been living under a rock for the past 15 years, Mark Hamill's best contributions to anything in the acting space will be his portrayal of the Joker on TV's "Batman: The Animated Series". That's right your Luke Skywalker is in no way on the level of the Hamill...

    okay...i'll stop now...

After this pathetic jump is the Kotaku article on this grand nugget of news.

Game Journalism - Jeff Green of 1up leaves for EA

Jeff & Sponge Bob. So Much Star Power

One of the reasons I started reading 1up and listening to games podcasts was because of the man...the myth...the Jeff Green. As a fan of games and; almost equally games journalism, one of the first articles I read was of a Diablo clone back in the 90's that Jeff Green wrote for the now defunct CGW [Computer Gaming World]. It is actually kind of good to see that he's going on to what I would call 'the even more BIG TIME' with working on the Sims with Electronic Arts.

The GFW podcast will not be the same with ya Jeffy G.

TV Hell - Why Sci-Fi Future Is Still Shaky

After A Couple Key Series Play Out This Season Sci-Fi Television May Have To Check For A Couple Polyps

As more of a fan of science fiction books and movies, television has always been a bit of a dice roll with me.  I was a huge fan of the X-Files as a kid. Occasionally I could get into some Next Generation and if the planets were aligned properly Xena/Outer Limits and many other off-shoots sparingly.

Rich over at TV Hell.net shares my sentiment, when Battlestar wraps up this year and the rest of the newer science fiction shows reveal more of their plots, Sci-Fi television could be up a creek.

Vote "No" On Politics - Depend On Brog

    Vote Morbo

Although I've been known to go on a political binge from time to time...

Okay...more often than not, you can find me trolling some [insert politician name here], but with my recent feelings on American politics and the current electoral process [and various other processes]. You can rest assured that this blog will be as 'a-political' as possible.  If anything I'll keep to a minimum the foibles of both sides. Honestly, if you aren't voting for Morbo the Great then why be a politician?
