Season's Beatings III Photo Gallery Up!

    Yup...it was legendary

Thanks guys...it was a blast being there and learning a whole lot from playing and watching.  VDO's Rogue is ridiculous and Justin's Strider is insane! Got a new found interest in playing Guilty Gear [it really is difficult figuring out which version to invest a serious amount of time in if you're a noob].  Didn't get a chance to see the ends of Smash/CvS2/MvsC2 and all the rest! It really was a lot to cover, but it was fun doing it.  Hopefully next year I'll enter...

Edit: Due to the tons of e-mail I've been getting about these photos...after the jump is a photobucket link to all the rest of the shots of SBIII [they are low-res and some...if not most of them...suck]

Nintendo Wii: World Of Goo Yes, Raving Rabbids TV Party NO!

I liked the first Raving Rabbids, but anything that's going to have you looking this ridiculous and also requires multiple peripherals [and ISN'T Rock Band] gets a big, leaky rolled-eye. Hey...it could be good...but do want to find that out? No, well...not unless my girlfriend is playing it...then I'll join in...because I'm cooler than she is and no how to work computers.

After the jump...something that actually looks good: The World Of Goo,

IndieCade: International Festival Finalist: "The Graveyard"

Thanks to Joystiq for posting this clip.

Here we have one of the finalist for the IndieCade: International Festival. I don't know that it is...or what it is about, but when that song kicks in, it seems to be setting the stage [as if being in a graveyard isn't enough] for something a lot more tense and creepy.

Word is...if you download the beta you get a nice extra twist!

Silly Video "Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion"

Coming from someone who use to play fighters competitively and now 'semi-religiously' it is really intriguing and sad to see the route the new Tekken has taken. If all anyone within this specified niche sect can say, 'Well...at least it looks better than Tekken 4' then got big problem.

It seems like Namco never quite recovered from losing its Tekken fans since four [which was 6 years ago mind you].  Look at this trailer! Almost everything in this "Speed Racer-esque' colorful explosion-fest looks a bit gimmicky.  The backgrounds look great, but Xiaoyu with a magic wand? And one of the most rediculous last name to grace a fighter...Alexanderson.

I actually am psyched to play this game,

Mark Hamill returns as the Joker [In Arkham Asylum Game]

    Commence The Freak Out

Breath...Breath...in through the nose, out through the mouth. Yes, it is true. Sir Mark Hamill [why did I just knight dude?] a.k.a. the 2nd best joker ever [sorry I have to give it to 'the Ledge' for his bananaberry performance] will getting behind the mic one more time.

If you've been living under a rock for the past 15 years, Mark Hamill's best contributions to anything in the acting space will be his portrayal of the Joker on TV's "Batman: The Animated Series". That's right your Luke Skywalker is in no way on the level of the Hamill...

    okay...i'll stop now...

Dairy Queen Tycoon - Dreams Come True Don't They?

Hmm...I wonder what's under that cone?

Having a girlfriend who often craves Dairy Queen, I find it this bit of news a great way to start off the week. I guess GameMill Entertainment and Spark Plug Games have teamed up to cater to what I'm sure is a very large demographic.  Did you like PC Tycoon? Do you have a cone or bowl fresh from Dairy Queen and are now wondering how to have this same icy-smooth excitement everyday on your PC? Well guess what? You Can!

Look...just know that a Dairy Queen Tycoon is being made and this is how it's being promoted:

Our goal is to create an entertaining game that also embraces the rich history of Dairy Queen and its place within the community“ Brian Kirkvold, Executive Producer for GameMill Entertainment.

Game Journalism - Jeff Green of 1up leaves for EA

Jeff & Sponge Bob. So Much Star Power

One of the reasons I started reading 1up and listening to games podcasts was because of the man...the myth...the Jeff Green. As a fan of games and; almost equally games journalism, one of the first articles I read was of a Diablo clone back in the 90's that Jeff Green wrote for the now defunct CGW [Computer Gaming World]. It is actually kind of good to see that he's going on to what I would call 'the even more BIG TIME' with working on the Sims with Electronic Arts.

The GFW podcast will not be the same with ya Jeffy G.

Currently Playing: Beyond Good & Evil PS2

This Is A Slide From The 'Current Gen' BGE...I'm Psyched!

Seeing as I just purchased a PS2 last year I'm throughly playing through all the games I missed.  At times its a chore [especially with Deus Ex], but with this game I have to say its been such a breeze.  After I get off of work I pop in the disc do a mission or two, or sometimes I'll race or play a quick sidequest.  I'm about halfway through and I really don't want it to end. Considering I've been very busy with my various jobs it has taken me about a month to make it this far. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

After the jump yet another cosplayer...
