Iron Man 3 Is The Best Of All The Iron Man's. Please Stop Making Iron Man Films.

The real star of Iron Man 3? Jarvis the Stark-programmed companion, possibly dying from some form of robot cancer.

So, this was the best Iron Man movie of all the Iron Man films. Crazy talk, right? How does one forget the awe-inspiring original film that shocked the moviegoing world by not sucking all the way? We expected nothing from a character that wasn’t already sewn into the fabric of idealized American superhero idols. Iron Man 3 is the best we could have ever hoped for in a third installment of ANY film in this day and age, while managing to embrace the “full hokeyness” that the previous two films seemed to lack. Unfortunate timing surrounds the film given one of the major themes of Iron Man 3 is localized terrorism.

Graphic Update: Joe The Barbarian

With moments of such honesty and self-awareness, it's a shame Joe The Barbarian's story is so clumsily inconsistent as it is poetic.

Joe The Barbarian isn’t my favorite comic. There is a middle-portion of the story that I found annoyingly boring. I kinda wanted to see a “Choose Your Own Adventure” segment of this book where the little runt dies. “Take that, kid with hypoglycemia and a newly dead, war veteran, father.”

Graphic Update: The Unexpected

A collection of works breathing life into the suspense and horror genre pulp comics once represented.

Work, photography and dance have been occupying a ton of my creative energies. Time to go back to my roots. That’s right. Writing grammatically incorrect sentences for the web.

You’re probably wondering why you are seeing my thoughts about comics again. Thanks to our unseasonably warm Sprinter [or is it Wring?], I’ve made it a point to dig through my ever growing backlog of comics, finding a park bench, and burying myself within pages of strange tales. I mean, it’s either that or writing about video games -- and I’m not in a rush to receive the poorly spelled death threats via tweet and e-mail. Let us frolic!

Graphic Update: Comics -- Why You No Like The Blacks?

Representation of minorities in media doesn't stop at the characters. I guess comics and video games have a lot more in common than I thought.

Graphic Update: Asterios Polyp

I’m terrible at preparing for long distance travel. Choosing something to read on a flight gives me the sweats. In August I visited San Diego, I took Phonogram: Rue Brittania and Asterios Polyp. I’ll just say I’m glad I read “Phonogram” first. When you’re trapped on a plane with a crying baby and a man who smells like sour bratwurst, you’ll thank me for recommending this book.

Things That Are Cool: Comix, Free Games, Jane McGonigal, Internet Findings...

One of the many interesting panels I found over at Comix Cube

These past couple weeks and [I'm guessing] future weeks will be dedicated to me figuring out some things in my little life. One of which is [hopefully] getting my TV serviced so I can get back to reviewing this ever-growing hill of vidja games.

I'm also finding time to work on other artistic endeavors that you may [or may not] see on the internet.

Since my facebook sabbatical, my Twitter and e-mail inbox have been getting stuffed. Some of it is actually not totally disgusting. I'd even go as far in saying that it may have brightened my week.

Below is a dump of all the tabs I currently have open in my browser

Albuquerque's amazing art draws in any reader, but this end game of American Vampire is a bit of a mess.

X-Men: First Class -- Rebooted For A Dumber Generation

A discussion of homosapien vs homo-superior. A chess match between cooperating versus dominating. Too bad the rest of the film wasn't as brilliant as this discussion.
