New Crack: EOS 5D Mark II D-SLR

My god...that is some sexyness staring back at me.

How could I forget to post this last week? Canon has decided to let the public in on its new top secret weapon, the EOS 5D Mark II D-SLR.  In what seems to be an almost direct response to Nikon's D90, Canon's new behemoth will also be one of the first D-SLR's with the ability to shoot video. The difference, well...besides Canon's video specs being at 1080p and the D90 being at 720p...not much.

Update: LHC Shutdown from Glitch

Yep...I see what the problem is...Cheetos in the Magnets....

My obsession and I'm sure many others out there, the LHC [Large Hadron Collider] has suffered a minor setback from what would appear to be a 'slight over heating' of a transformer.  Alex Higgins reports for the Associated Press:

The faulty transformer has been replaced and the ring in the 17-mile circular tunnel under the Swiss-French border has been cooled back down to near zero on the Kelvin scale — minus 459.67 degrees Fahrenheit — the most efficient operating temperature, said a statement by CERN, as the organization is known.

When the transformer malfunctioned, operating temperatures rose from below 2 Kelvin to 4.5 Kelvin — extraordinarily cold by most standards, but warmer than the normal operating temperature.

Total bummer...just when you thought this week couldn't get worse...then this happens.  To make matters worse, due to the complexities of the LHC...its still questionable as to when it will be up and running again. It looks workable, but man...i just got slightly MORE nervous about this whole 'milestone in technology'.

Are We Really Evolving? - Teddy Bear Phones

According to the image above you'd probably think that crazy ole Japan and their crazy ole women are doing something all 'karayzay' again on the technology front.  Barring this being limited to women [guys like bears too...err...pause] the cuddle and cute concept phone known only as 'Kuma Phone' made by Willcom stole the show of the Good Design Expo this weekend. Like most phones it has: a vibrate feature, custom sounds for incoming calls, and all calls can be answered or ended by merely pressing the tail. [Take that cuteoverload.com!]
