Write, Because You Aren't Being Represented

These are the hands of Willie Wayne Young, a self-taught sketch artist. He sketches mostly the mundane of everyday life in Dallas, Texas. He began doing this in between customers at the barbershop he currently works.

If you’ve ever read anything I’ve written you’d know that games writing is something I just “did just to do.” Somewhere between now and 2008, I’ve managed to meet more progressive thinkers which has helped me mature as a person. Unfortunately, I had to step away. It took me the better part of last year to figure out the reason(s) I continue to write about games -- among other things. It had a lot to do with my passions shifting, my health, and the reason I have your eyes here at this moment.

Here’s where I, abstractly, beg you to start writing.

Commercial Break -- Top 3 Ways To Be An Idiot

Is there an infograph that proves that our brains are devolving back into the primordial ooze in which we climbed from? Look, I know times are tough and I'm far from a hippie. In that, I'm interested in having systems and infrastructures questioned, but met with newer ideas with tested theory. This argument here, is just, well, you hear this s**t?!

Are times this bad? Do we really need to bend out logic to humor the -- "not-so-badness" of sweatshops?

Going by this man's "Theory of Dumb." We could technically commit crime for profit, based on how we feel our lives have turned and society should just be okay with that.

C'mon son.

Commercial Break: Caine's Arcade

Let this be a lesson in humility. Let this remind you of those days when it was just you, in a yard, with ideas. Let this ground you, because we weren't all popular. A lot of us were, or probably still are, the person that doesn't get to play with others often. We get so engulfed in whatever worlds we inhabit that it's really easy to believe that no one out there is paying attention.

Sometimes a little hardwork and solitude will bring great fortune. We can all do ourselves a service by sitting with our ideas, and really sticking with them.

Big thanks to director Nirvan Mullick and his reddit clan. For more about Caine's Arcade and his scholarship fund, go here.
