IndieCade: International Festival Finalist: "The Graveyard"

Thanks to Joystiq for posting this clip.

Here we have one of the finalist for the IndieCade: International Festival. I don't know that it is...or what it is about, but when that song kicks in, it seems to be setting the stage [as if being in a graveyard isn't enough] for something a lot more tense and creepy.

Word is...if you download the beta you get a nice extra twist!

R.I.P "PrideFC", Welcome "Dream Inc"

Wow...that's a lot of old dudes.

As one who is a huge fan and ex-practicioner of what I guess would be called mixed-martial arts now, I still morn the loss of Japan's biggest fighting spectacle; that is Pride FC. Pride was purchased by Zuffa LLC. last year in an attempt to 'consolidate' a then burgeoning sub-culture.  Zuffa is most known for it's american mixed martial arts staple UFC, which is [in this broggers opinion] inferior as far as a company goes in regards to the treatment of their fighters.

For the past couple months I've been watching old footage of Pride fights and thinking about 'what could have been' had Pride been able to capitalize in the same matter as the UFC company. You can click this link for the wiki article on the history of Pride, it is very thorough. Pride has had it's far share of blemishes as well, but the biggest would be its parent company DSE [Dream Stage Entertainment] and its possible dealings with the yakuza.

This isn't a post about the bad though...this is a post about the good and i think possibly great! Feburary marked the start of Dream. One of the founding members and a good majority of the background staff and backers of Pride FC decided to start all over again with Dream. Rekindling the rules and showmanship of what we got to know from Pride.

Homophobia In The Gaming Community

[Warning: Explicit Content]

This is an interesting clip and study I heard about a while back from Flynn DeMarco of Gay Gamer.  At the beginning of this clip you'll hear a very small portion of a much larger and more awful collection of DeMarco's recordings while playing your average Halo/Call of Duty/Gears Of War video game.

This isn't surprising I know, this doesn't mean it shouldn't be talked about.  Personally, I'd like to make a recording of all the ridiculous vitriol I've experienced online once a group of people realized I was black. Unfortunately, I have not found the time as of late.

EnglishRussia.com - Cucumber Pickers Of Belarus

Thanks to the lovely crew over at EnglishRussia I have now been further cultured. I guess this is still an existing job in which there are a couple tractors per farm and people get paid below a decent wage to pick cucumbers for a living.

Hurray For Not Being Blown Up!

We The Best Mang...We Deed It

Although later I am posting another article about the CERN lab itself. If you are reading this then you should know that we, and by we I mean a hand full of physicists and scientist watched two white dots blink on a computer screen. Noticed what's missing? We [and they] did not die! Isn't that awesome!? Not dying rocks! The thing is, this is step one [or step 421] depending on how you look at this of many equally great and dangerous steps to come.

Here's what Alex Higgins [Associated Press] has to add:

"Now that the beam has been successfully tested in clockwise direction, CERN plans to send it counterclockwise. Eventually two beams will be fired in opposite directions with the aim of recreating conditions a split second after the big bang, which scientists theorize was the massive explosion that created the universe."
