Fan Video -- Team Fortress 2: Sentry Sabotage

I'm posting a fan video for a video game that came out close to five years ago. I'm that guy.

Usually a good rule to follow is that when someone says, "Hey I made a video about this video game I like." Chances are you need to break all ties with this person and post the unintentionally hilarious video on several social network sites. That is, if it's terrible and you're a terrible person who takes pleasure in something like that. I know I don't...

In the many years Valve's Team Fortress 2 has been availible on console and PC, plenty of fan videos, 'drawrings', maybe even macrame patterns have been dedicated to the game. Turns out these nerds who play video games may also harbor some form of a highly skilled, artistic background.

Enjoy this video, it comes from a community that cares.

P.S. How true-to-life was that sniper offing a cloaked spy? Very.

Things That Are Cool: Comix, Free Games, Jane McGonigal, Internet Findings...

One of the many interesting panels I found over at Comix Cube

These past couple weeks and [I'm guessing] future weeks will be dedicated to me figuring out some things in my little life. One of which is [hopefully] getting my TV serviced so I can get back to reviewing this ever-growing hill of vidja games.

I'm also finding time to work on other artistic endeavors that you may [or may not] see on the internet.

Since my facebook sabbatical, my Twitter and e-mail inbox have been getting stuffed. Some of it is actually not totally disgusting. I'd even go as far in saying that it may have brightened my week.

Below is a dump of all the tabs I currently have open in my browser

Games Are[n't] Worth It?

You didn't know you wanted it, until you saw it on the internet.

I guess I'm ready to write about games again. I got this screen cap in my inbox this past weekend. I'm actually having a hard time expressing any shred of thought about said image, other than a muted chuckle. Okay, that and mild shame for finding it hilarious.

L.A. Noire Developer Exposed -- Brendon McNamara

Nice work on the neck-fat there John.

[I was originally going to post this on 1up.com, but their editor won't save my work. Also, I'm at my day job and I don't want to make it a habit of writing up stuff, while I'm supposed to be doing other work. So, this is just between you and me internet.]

Commercial Break: Classics Of Games = Amazing

The youtube channel Classics of Games has been keeping me company this morning while I sift through angry e-mails and comments about how, 'I'm gay for not liking inFamous.' Yup, this is how we are spending our Fourth of July morning folks.

Let's put a positive spin on this. Classics of Games is a collection of [perfectly sized] excerpts from video games, that kind of encompass the constant struggle between what makes a game useless and what makes a game stand the test of time. [I dare you to un-see the Jackie Chan fighting game]

After the jump are a select few that made me smile on a day where I'm supposed to be telling mom about, "how gay I must be." Yeah, let's put that one on the refrigerator.

Full disclosure: My day job is currently requiring I work longer hours and do heavier lifting. I'm currently writing this after imbibing one hell of a riesling and several cupcakes. Don't judge, but recognize that I may not be at my sharpest.

Addendum: Uncomfortable Realism

Not having played any Battlefield 3, I can guarantee you there is no sex being had on the other side of that door.

A couple weeks ago I wrote a short [apparently] piece on violence in video games over at Couchbound.net. It specifically deals with how violence in video games are advertised. By proxy, the article lightly grazes issues of maturity and consumer responsibility.

I put the article up on N4G [among other sites] and some insightful comments where made. This addendum will function as what thoughts and ideas were spawned from said comments and discussions.

GFW: Shawn Elliott Stories

Alright, it's been a while since I've gone on a posting spree like this, but here we are. A full day of writing and searching the internet for reference points.

Above is one of many stories that inspired me to step out of my terrorist cave of an apartment and share a bit of my personality with this small corner of the internet.

I've recently started playing around with audio editing software. Not saying you'll be hearing me regularly do a podcast, but you may hear something interview related in the future. In the mean time enjoy some of the messed up stories that consistently inspire me to tell others about my messed up stories.
